GDPR workshop: Getting to grips with key concepts and implications
June 6 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect on 25 May 2018. The legislation is of global interest as it impacts any company doing business with European citizens – regardless of where the company is based. For the many companies that must comply with the new legislation, the best way to prepare is to implement a solid data protection strategy and process, which includes encryption, in order to be most efficient. This workshop will focus on key sectors impacted in the UK and what they should be doing covering compliance and technology to support that.
Who should attend
The workshop is suited to people from a range or organisations and sectors, including SMEs, consumer groups, entrepreneurs and start ups, large corporates and policy makers, the collaborative economy, customer services, finance, insurance, health and social care, tourism, hospitality, retail, space and defence.
What participants will get out of attending
Participants will get an understanding of the key concepts of the regulation and an understanding of the implications to key UK sectors – financial services, healthcare, digital, retail, defence and others. We will work through specific use cases covering legal and operational aspects in sectors identified by participants. Participants will be able to connect with experts and get a self-check audit list for their own compliance check.
